Aquarium - Family

The architecturally impressive Albuquerque Aquarium exhibits Gulf of Mexico saltwater species from a variety of habitats, including estuarine, surf zone, shallow waters, coral reefs, open ocean and deep ocean. The highlight of the aquarium is a 285,000 gallon ocean tank where brown, sandtiger, blacktip and nurse sharks swim alongside brilliantly colored reef fish, eels, sea turtles and open ocean species. Walking distance through the aquarium and garden is about 1.6 miles. The Albuquerque Aquarium is a facility of the Albuquerque Biological Park.

Open every day of the week, 9am - 5pm
June through August: 9am - 6pm, Saturday and Sunday
Closed: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Days

Reciprocal Agreements with Other Institutions
Half-price admission to the Aquarium is offered to members of certain other gardens, aquarium and zoos across the US. These institutions also offer discounts to New Mexico BioPark Society  members; however because participation in this program is voluntary, it is recommended members contact the institution prior to visiting.
