Albuquerque offers so many options for visitors – out climate allows outdoor activities year-round, our museums are nationally known, the city boasts restaurants with all the world’s cuisine, our multi-cultural history provides days of fascinating adventures in and around Albuquerque – the list goes on. So, what should you pack for such a plethora of activities?
For any trip, a good pair of walking shoes is a must. Regardless of the activities that you participate in, you don’t want to be too tuckered in the evening to participate in our Monday-Friday evening reception! And after that, there’s dinner on the town and evening activities well into the beautiful and clear Albuquerque night.
Layering clothing is the best choice for a trip to Albuquerque. Our temperatures can vary 40oF in a single day – for example starting at 50oF and topping out at 90oF in the summer. Also, in Albuquerque you have the ability to go from about 5000 feet to over 10,000 feet above sea level at the top of our Sandia Peak, in a short period of time, so it’s best to have several layers on that can be removed and replaced as needed.
As for style of attire, welcome to the Land of Enchantment! First Rule: There is no dress code. You can be casual or formal, whatever you choose. Going out for a show or a fine meal? Bring the gowns and suits, you’ll feel right at home – but don’t be surprised if the gentleman next to you simply pressed his jeans for the occasion! It’s all part of the flow here out West. So whether it’s haute couture or happily comfortable, you’ll find them side by side in perfect harmony here in Albuquerque.
Our weather is gorgeous year-round, due to our location, which is called high desert. Due to the low humidity and higher altitude, we recommend a few items to bring that will make your stay more pleasurable during any time of year here:
- A hat with a visor
- Sunglasses
- Sunscreen
- Eye-drops
- Lip balm
- Layers of clothing
- A water bottle
- Good walking shoes
- A backpack or large bag (the shopping here is amazing!)
- A camera!
Whether your trip involves shopping, site-seeing, adventuring, dining or any of the other many attractions that Albuquerque offers visitors, we wish you a safe journey and a wonderful experience!
Warmest Regards, Clubhouse Inn & Suites Staff
